Green Tara Project brought personal safety training to Snehalaya (an India-based non-profit focused on the care of women and children and LGBT communities affected by poverty and the commercial sex industry) in numerous trips. Training consisted of 8-hour Level 1 and Level 2 certificate classes for beneficiaries and staff, reaching over 220 young women and girls. The training was so well received that Green Tara Project helped kick off Snehalaya's "Educate. Empower. Lead." Malala campaign with a group of young women continuing the personal safety training after Green Tara Project had left.
